The Application of Data Normalization Method in Fundamental Matrix Estimation

Abstract
This paper first introduces the concept of fundamental matrix, and analyzes the feasibility of estimating fundamental matrix from corresponding points. Then the basic eight-point algorithm is introduced, and two methods with input data normalization are described, which are the anisotropy method and the isotropy method. With the using of normalization method, the precision of fundamental matrix estimated from eight-point algorithm will be greatly improved. The final experiment confirms this improvement and compares the performance of the two normalization methods.
