Abstract
Maize (Zea mays L.) is a very important crop throughout the world, serving as a source of food, feed, and fuel. In this present study, two important agronomic traits associated with kernel, row number per ear (RNpE) and kernel number per row (KNpR), were investigated in a maize recombinant inbred line (RIL) population derived from the cross between Mo17 and Huangzao4, including RNpE and KNpR. Using the obtained data, the descriptive statistics, analysis of variance and correlation analysis were performed using SPSS 11.5 software in the RIL population. The results are beneficial for further developing quantitative trait locus mapping and molecular marker-assisted selection for RNpE and KNpR in maize.
