Abstract
This article describes the Human Response Injury Profile (HRIP) radiological methodology. This methodology, designed for medical and logistical planning purposes, provides a time-based estimate of casualties and fatalities occurring as a consequence of radiological events (such as fallout following the detonation of a nuclear weapon or the detonation of a radiological dispersal device) directed against military targets. The approach generates these estimates based on progressions of underlying symptoms and their severity changes over time.
