Abstract
A GPS antenna must be able to cover most part of the sky in order to receive several satellites’ signals. To achieve this, the antenna has to provide a broad radiation beam and additional requirements which include low gain and right-handed circular polarization with a low axial ratio. An appropriate antenna is a crucial element of the GPS terminal to perform accurate positioning within a short acquisition time. This article describes the properties of GPS antennas and presents a gallery of various antenna types.
