Abstract
Surface texturing is a promising method for lubrication engineering with the purpose of energy conservation. Based on solving the Navier-Stokes equations, the CFD approach is increasingly conducted in predicting viscous lubricant within textured surfaces of counterparts. The acquisition of reliable results depends on suitable computation models, given it is an attempt on comparison of several low Reynolds number k-ε models for lubrication analysis relied on a groovy texture within viscous full film flow was made. Relative values both dynamic and total pressure, components of velocity in radial and tangential direction, as well as the net viscous and pressure forces are investigated and shown by profiles plotted along the inside of sliding and stationary walls. The results read that Abid index and Yang-Shih index present some singularities in the flow field in a different way, and the others of low-Reynolds turbulence models show a close similarity.
