Auto-focus Methods of Optical Microscope Methods Based on Ostu Segmentation

- Abstract
- This paper proposes an auto-focus method for microscope which is based on Ostu segment. The method uses the variance of the two classes of the segment results as the guidance of the auto-focus process. The guidance function responses within a wide object distance range. It has a strong anti-jamming ability and it provides a wide range of the guidance value. At the same time, it requires less calculation than the existing guidance. The paper analyzes the existing guidance function and the proposed method to evaluate the guidance, and then compares the new method with the existing methods.
