Abstract
Steelmaking dust is a by-product of steel production. It consists of metal oxides (iron, zinc, lead, etc.) and can be returned to the production cycle, or can be used in industries where its dispersion and magnetic properties are claimed. It is often impossible because the dust contains zinc and lead. Plasma processes of extraction non-ferrous metals from the dust were studied. Laboratory findings have shown that at high temperatures of plasma process extraction of zinc and lead can pass with high speed. The thermodynamic characteristics of zinc extraction degree were estimated. The research results allow to conclude about the future prospects of plasma recycling steelmaking dust.
