Abstract
Solar energy is a kind of important renewable energy and solar radiation is an indicator to determine solar energy resource in a region is rich or lack. The estimate of solar radiation and its spatial distribution would be a reference for the country's energy development strategy and planning. However, the effectiveness of calculating solar radiation is still a problem to obtain an accurate spatial distribution of solar radiation. In this paper, on the basis of comparing the existing solar radiation calculating models and analyzing their advantages and disadvantages, the authors improved an existing model of solar radiation by using “regression equation calculation plus spatializing residuals” method, which has been applied better in the interpolation of temperature data. The authors calculated the land surface solar radiation in China using the improved stepwise regression model. The result was compared with the measured solar radiation data and the overall accuracy gets 89.88%. It shows that the method used in this paper improved the accuracy of the calculation of solar radiation.
