Abstract
Most economic activities are affected by seasonal fluctuations. This paper is an attempt to place greater emphasis on the significance of seasonal fluctuations in regional economy growth. The value-added of industry (VAI), one of the major indicators of economic growth, was analyzed by using the methods of Directional Statistics during the 11th five-year plan of Shaanxi Province in China. The result indicated that the VAI in Shaanxi Province has an obvious character of seasonal fluctuation, which is submitting to von Mises bimodal distributions.
