The Evaluation Study on the City Innovation Capacity in Zhejiang Province: The Use of Super-efficiency DEA Model

- Abstract
- As technological innovation plays an increasingly important role in promoting regional economy, the innovation capacity has become an important impetus to enhance the urban competitiveness. This paper makes an empirical evaluation study on city innovation capacity in Zhejiang province in 2009 by using the super-efficiency DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis) model. Firstly, we establish the evaluation indicators of city innovation capability. Secondly, we input the data collected from the 11 cities of Zhejiang province into super-efficiency DEA model so as to get the super-efficiency index of each city’s innovation efficiency. Finally, based on the slack vectors of inputs and outputs of each city’s innovation, we find out how to improve the city innovation capacity.
