Abstract
In the global competitive environment, manufacturers must be able to quickly respond to customers. Rapid responses necessitate the use of information technology to share and integrate information, making the construction of an e-manufacturing environment an important issue for manufacturers. ATP (Available to Promise) is a vital indicator of the ability to quickly respond to customers. Manufacturers that collect real-time ATP information can respond effectively and instantly. With regard to information collection, RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) features remote read and re-writable abilities that render it suitable for collecting information on the shop floor. This study offers a RFID-based e-manufacturing framework that enables timely collection of information from the shop floor in order to achieve real-time ATP and ultimately enhance manufacturers’ ability to respond quickly to customers.
