Abstract: Distance Measuring Equipment (DME) is an important part of land-based navigation system. The beacon antenna of DME is linear biconical antenna array which consists of 1-11 wide band (960-1215MHz) biconical antennas. In this paper, by means of the HFSS simulation technology based on the finite element method, the radiation characteristics of linear biconical antenna array are studied. According to the simulation result of linear bi-conical antenna array, the method of antenna pattern shaped and the specifications recommended by International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), a DME beacon antenna is designed. And the radiation characteristics of DME beacon antenna are also be studied.

Abstract: Many factors reflect the complexity of China’s state-owned enterprises, the representative characteristics of which include the state, marketization, and the mixture of both. This paper examines the policy management of state-owned enterprises (SOEs) using qualitative and quantitative methods. For instance, with regard to law-level policies, the negative skewness distribution shows quantitatively that the frequency of policy making is concentrated well above the mean with the ministry level regulations. The qualitative results indicate that the legal effects on SOE embody policy intention, SOE promotion remains an essential policy but there is a tendency for it to be adjusted and altered, SOE management characteristics are subject to diversified policies, and that there are differences in SOE domestic and overseas performance, for example operating in a single monopoly or multiple market participation.

Abstract: It is certain that China’s solar power industry has been developing rapidly and is having a broad prospect since the start of the 21Century. However, both the government and enterprises have not had an effective system of the investment risk evaluation of this industry so far. In order to avoid the subjectivity and blindness about the investment, a feasible evaluation index sys-tem of the investment risk of solar power projects is established in this paper. Based on the weight determined by the three-degree Analytic Hierarchy Process, an improved TOPSIS model is utilized to judge. In this model, we adopt the Minkowski distance, which can solve the over weighted problem in the original TOPSIS model effectively. We also hire expert group to make de-cision so that the assessment results will be better in line with the objective reality. Finally, a representative case illuminates the application as well as proves the operability of the model.

Abstract: Wireless ad-hoc and sensor networks are energy constrained because nodes are strongly dependent on their batteries. Topology Control (TC) is one of the most important technique used to reduce energy consumption. This technique coordinates the decisions of network nodes about their transmission power to save energy, prolong network lifetime, and mitigate MAC-level medium contention, while maintaining network connectivity. TC protocols share many commonalities and basic components such as neighbourhood sensing and transmission power adjustment mechanism at the physical layer. Based on this observation and in order to ease the implementation and the study in systematic way of proposed TC protocols, we propose a new framework based on NS-2 simulator. The framework is modular and generic since it implements a set of basic components used by TC protocols. We illustrate, by an example, how the framework facilitates the implementation and performance evaluation of TC protocols.

Abstract: The networking product industry has been characterized by high variation of demand, cut-throat competition from markets, high level of quality assurance, quick response to customer demand, as well as pressure for shortening delivery time. It is vital for networking product manufacturers to launch new products promptly and reduce inventory and production costs. In this study, a shop flow information system is proposed in order to enhance networking product manufacturers’ competitiveness. The proposed shop flow information system is developed by using advanced shop flow control devices and auto-identification tools and then integrated with enterprise resources planning (ERP) systems to provide information-integrated real-time and on-the-spot monitor systems, which can further reinforce ERP functions. The developed shop floor information system is implemented in a local networking product manufacturing company. Oracle AIM software was customized to demonstrate the whole structure of the information-integrated system. The implementation of shop floor information system enables the company to gain significant improvements for the process of ordering, material purchasing, manufacturing, and shipping.

Abstract: This paper presents implementation of multi-function reversible Gate using Quantum-dot Cellular Automata (QCA), which fulfils desirable circuit features of small size, high device density, and low power dissipation of contemporary emerging circuit design technologies. The design methodology followed is such that the resultant circuits not only occupy smaller area, but also enjoy superior performance factors in respect of noise, circuit stability, and low power dissipation. The multi-function reversible gate can be configured to work as universal gate, Fan-out and comparator functions. And all have been designed in QCA and presented in this paper as well. The operation of QCA circuits is simulated using QCADesigner bistable vector simulation.

Abstract: In today’s world bioterrorism is considered more lethal than nuclear or chemical attacks. It can be a very sophisticated and a catastrophic approach of attack. Consequently, there is a demand for developing a complete C4I model dedicatedly designed for defending bio-attack, which includes, but is not limited to sensing/detection, tracking and fusion, communication, and assessment of bio-threats. In this paper, we propose a methodology and system architecture and evaluate its performance. In addition, we have studied various sensors that would be utilized in this architecture. The accent has been on the use of distributed systems such as ad-hoc networks and on application of epidemic communication algorithms to better manage bio-threat data. However, our primary focus has been placed on distributed data fusion algorithms and understanding the performance characteristics of these algorithms under diverse real time scenarios. We have achieved this through extensive simulations and comparative studies on communication and fusion algorithms with biological sensor data.
