Abstract: In the view of traditional quilting embroidery machine, speed is not high. The machine is easy to have the vibration and the impact of product quality problems. We put forward a new type of numerical control multi needle rotating shuttle quilting embroidery machine. New transmission plan for rotary shuttle machine needle rod driving mechanism and a take-up mechanism is improved, at the same time, the quilting machine multi-axis synchronous driving accuracy, roller and optimization control software such key technical are studied, in order to further improve the speed and quality of sewing and embroidery. The development of products through test and actual application shows thatthe main performance indicators advanced.

Abstract: The paper takes a close look at the Chinese shì syntax-semantics mismatched structure. It is proposed that other than the copular interpretation, shì in such structures should be reanalysed as the topic marker. The parsing framework for such structure is TP[T[T Tm]TP[T[T Tm]…IP]]], in which TP can be generated in a recursive manner. Such topical analysis is further proved to be more consistent and effective to both mismatched and matched structures.

Abstract: Numerous marketing researchers and practitioners emphasize the importance of the information technology (IT) in service quality. This investigation examines the relationships among information technology, total quality management (TQM) strategy, knowledge management (KM), service quality and brand loyalty, and analyzes the steps that are involved in knowledge management that supports the quality of service in a hospital. The final section of this investigation proposes that managers evaluate and improve service quality and brand loyalty. Relationships among the factors of interest suggest that hospitals are successful in implementing TQM strategy and knowledge management only if they can manage their information technology effectively.

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to examine the critical success factors for the development of offshore programs by case study on Shu-Te university’s (STU) international programs in Vietnam. It adopts in-depth interview for data collection with semi-structured questions. Informants include the decision makers and direct program managers as well as coordinators from STU’s existing partners. It is found that overall management including human resources allocations and process managements for the progress as well as quality control is the key to the success. In addition, it is believed that without cross-cultural communication that involves confrontations, negotiations and adoptions, the success can never be possible in all forms of international education.

Abstract: Programming design course is one of the required courses for many non-computer related students. The course objective is to equip students with basic knowledge of computer programming, which will be the essential tools for future study and work. However, it is difficult to get a satisfying teaching effectiveness with the same syllabus, because the backgrounds of the non-computer related students are diverse and the differences of learning capability are also very large. Hence, we introduce the flexible teaching methods gradually, which allow the teacher to adjust the syllabus around the baseline of the course in a certain degree according to the characteristics of the students, and to take flexible measures in content, exercises and so on. The result of reform is positive both in the academic achievement and the satisfaction of students. In the paper the recent flexible teaching reform methods in C programming language course will be introduced.

Abstract: As international educational program has become a competitive market in the developing countries, the need of developing a suitable strategy for sustained success has becomes a high priority. This study aims to create a new strategy for universities/colleges to recruit overseas students in Vietnam. It was applied to master’s program in business administration (MBA) in Vietnam. Evidence was found by self-assessment in supporting the strategy this study developed.

Abstract: In Taiwan, English is the most popular second language. Learning English has been a very hot issue already and people always talk about how they can improve their English, no matter what age they are. The Administration of Education, and more industrial incorporations in Taiwan, use the General English Proficiency Test (GEPT) or other equivalent tests such as the Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) to measure an applicant’s qualification for employment and promotion. The purpose of this study is to develop the TOEIC-based after-school English remedial program and apply this program to low-achieving English students in a technical university in Northern Taiwan by using three different teaching media - traditional handouts, kindle e-Book and iPad tablet - in this study to investigate how these three different instructional media affect students’ learning performance. Thirty-six sophomore English underachievers were divided into three groups and used as subjects. The after-school English remedial program continues for 7 weeks with the same teaching strategy in all three groups. The results indicated that the subjects in these three groups all score better in posttest than pretest. The results also showed that the learners who studied with the kindle e-Book and iPad tablet had greater learning reinforcement, and made greater progress in English test scores, than the handout group. Statistically, however, there are no English score differences between the kindle e-Book and iPad tablet groups. The kindle e-Book and iPad tablet can also be beneficial to students’ learning performance, as long as the technology does not become distracting. Therefore, by means of the integration of instructional technology and media attributes in low-achieving English students, this study made suggestions regarding the adoption of technology for the English remedial program.

Abstract: One of the goals of higher education is to train up human resources with international perspectives and professional ability. Faced with the trend toward global competition, higher education has to be developed toward internationalization in order to strengthen a nation’s competitiveness. This study explores how technological and vocational colleges/universities in Taiwan recruit international students based on International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9004:2009 in order to achieve the managing for sustainability. It adopts PDCA (plan-do-check-active) cycle methods to analyse how the case university reaches its goal of recruiting the international students. It is found that the case university develops its recruitment strategies based on its missions and visions, and then adopts process management, innovation and self-learning by integrating its resources to fulfil its goal.

Abstract: Instructional technology has been integrated into teaching activities for a long time. The purpose of the study was to compare university students’ performance in using an iPad tablet as an effective pedagogical tool (experimental group) versus traditional handout instruction (control group) in a TOEIC-based after-school English remedial program. The study was also to investigate the impacts of student learning motivation by integrating iPad tablet tool. The researchers employed a quantitative and questionnaire methodology design. The study participants were 24 sophomore English underachievers students between 19 and 21 years of age and enrolled in a technical university in Northern Taiwan. The result showed that students obtained higher performance when using an iPad tablet tool than in traditional handout instruction. The results also showed that learners expressed positive viewpoints toward the usage of the iPad tablet in the after-school English remedial program and the experience of media integrated learning. Therefore, by means of the integration of instructional technology and media attributes in low-achieving English students, this study made suggestions regarding the adoption of technology for the English remedial program.

Abstract: To promote student teachers’ continuous growth in technology integration competencies, we have developed a video-based case learning (VBL) system by adopting the ADDIE model. The cases in the system were collected from former student teachers’ field teaching at the end of their internship. In addition to videos, the cases included related materials such as lesson plans, slides, worksheets, and so on. In short, our system intends to create an environment where student teachers can share their practical teaching knowledge with their peers, and their discussion is supported by evidence disclosed in the video. We have also conducted a formative evaluation and accordingly modified the system based on the evaluation reports. Currently, we attempt to collect more information about the VBL system so that its future use will bring more benefits.
